I downloaded this book a while back and deleted it without even making it halfway through. The grammar and writing was so poor, I just couldn't get past it. When I saw replies to several reviews that said "all" errors had been removed, I thought I'd give it another try. Nope.Ms. Stanford is in dire need of an impartial editor. Even a local critique group would be beneficial. I'll go a step further and encourage the author to take some time and read her work out loud. I think she'd be shocked and dismayed at the number of mistakes contained here. At 15% in, I lost count. On top of that, the heroine just comes across as an arrogant, self-important witch.
When I read that Joshua is a "construction MAGNET", I decided to give up. Ms. Stanford, the word you want is MAGNATE. Still hoping she'd learned from other reviewers, I checked out the "Look Inside" of the second book in this series and found a mistake in the very first sentence.
I'll never know if the storyline is any good. I just can't finish it.

Pseudo Personality Wasatch Mountians Book 1 edition by Kimbra Townsend Romance eBooks Reviews
I truly enjoyed this romance. I liked the characters, especially the heroine who thought she had things figured out but found that life isn't always easy to predict and pigeonhole. Both the hero and heroine had issues which they had to deal with to become the best people they were capable of being. Besides that, the mystery and suspense kept you glued to the page. The ending had a big shocker, but this is a romance so luckily love won out.
This was a good book! I loved watching all four of the main characters change throughout the book. There was drama, romance, shootings, and much more! I can’t imagine going through what Emily and Amy went through. I also can’t imagine what Josh or Randy went through either. I don’t want to get into too much detail about what happens to the characters, since this would give some surprises away! RicThis was a good book!
A very good mystery thriller with some romance thrown in to make you continue to read this great story. A modern women who has had to many bad relationships in the past, is an author who believes that people do not show their true selves until their relationships have reached the three year mark. She and her assistant move to the mountains of Utah where her Uncle has left her his property. She is set to build a new home on the property and has hired a contractor. The story unfolds from here.
I normally don't read romance novels unless they're free downloads, but this one was good, just enough excitement to keep me interested and not an overbearing amount of bedroom action. A true romance story instead of quickly scribbled plot in between porn scripts that some 'romance' books seem to be.
I figured out the antagonist kinda early, and even though there was a small twist I didn't see, I can't give it five stars. I want a little more mystery in my reads. However if I could I would give 4.5 stars because I did like it, I would recommend buying it and If i want to argue or help the characters, which I did, then to me that's great story telling.
THREE YEAR RULE is a smooth romantic read without all the mind-bending complexities of an overly-twisted plot. Not that there aren’t some surprises—there are! But it's nice to occasional enjoy a book that flows gently with characters that endear. This book did that for me. Also I thought the premise was very good—in many cases it does take a minimum of three years to truly reveal a personality.
This is a really quite decent book looking at how relationships form, how rules have exceptions, & how a romance novel can be about more than just "quivering members". The characters are shown to be fairly three-dimensional, despite the brevity of the piece & the number of characters. I'm really looking forward to reading more from this series.
I would suggest this for people who want some plot in their romance, or who are just starting to turn from general fiction to something sexier.
I absolutely must point out potential Triggers.
Stalking, gun violence, intentional injury to animals, death, violation of property, serial killer, hunting.
The Three Year Rule is by Alaina Stanford. It is book 1 of the Rule series. It is a romance and a suspenseful plot. It is a very good book and makes for a great summer read.
Elizabeth Stewart is a psychologist and a writer. Her last book is based on the idea of each person having a pseudo personality that comes to light during the romance period and may not retreat and allow the true personality come out for nearly three years. She encourages the women who come to hear her speak about her book to wait three years before marrying to make sure the personality their spouse has is one they can live with. At the end of this last talk, she meets her agent, Franklin who introduces her to Joshua Miller who is going to build her home in the mountains. She and Joshua go out for dinner to a bar where she ends up dancing with Joshua and getting more and more attracted to him and they end up in bed. The next morning, her assistant Amy Rothchild arrives with Elizabeth’s dog Charlie. They go to a secluded cabin where they will live until her house is built. Strange and scary things begin to happen at the cabin. Is it kids just trying to scare them or something more sinister?
Joshua and his friend and sheriff Randy Connor are determined to find out what is going on and at the same time protect Elizabeth and Amy. In addition, Joshua has to keep up with the building of Elizabeth’s house and take care of his two children after their mother brings them home. He relies quite a bit on his dog Kilo to protect Elizabeth and Charlie. Will Kilo make a difference? Can they keep the women safe?
